Business coaching grounded in Jesus
One-to-one coaching on the business problem in front of you, with faith in Christ as the foundation and a next step at the end of every reply.

You believe God is in control of the whole world, but you're running your business like it all depends on you.
Working hard and carrying the load is how most of us learned to be faithful. Matthew was working 70 to 80 hours a week for someone else, trying to fix it all himself, and nothing changed until he asked God for help. God's hand has been on his work ever since.Working hard and carrying the load is how most of us learned to be faithful, whether you own the business or answer to someone who does. Matthew knows that pattern from the inside. He was working 70 to 80 hours a week for someone else and trying to fix it all by working harder, and nothing changed until he finally asked God for help. God's hand has been on his work ever since.
- You wake at 1 or 2 a.m. and work the problem for hours.
- You're convicted to run it differently, and you don't know how.
- Your family feels it before anyone you work with does.
You come in running your business like it all depends on you. You leave running it with Jesus as your partner.
Handing off what isn't yours to carry
You still do the work, but you stop carrying the outcome alone. The problem goes to Jesus, with us beside you, instead of going to bed with you.
Putting first what matters
When everything feels urgent, you ask God what to do next and take that one step first. In our experience, it takes less time than trying to do it all.
Dropping what never needed doing
Some of what you carry is there only because you're afraid everything will fall apart without you. When you trust God with the outcome, you can let some of it go.

From people who've worked with Matthew
"Matthew leads with empathy, kindness, and a calm, consistent presence. He balances high standards with a genuine commitment to work-life balance, and he offered thoughtful guidance not just on my work, but on my career and life more broadly."
"What sets Matthew apart is his Mr. Rogers-like demeanor. His ability to foster collaboration and create an atmosphere of trust and respect made even the most difficult tasks manageable and, dare I say, enjoyable."
"Matthew is knowledgeable and generous with what he knows. … People leave a conversation with him better off."

Matthew Stublefield
More than 20 years leading teams, and more than 25 following Jesus
Matthew studied religion, not business, and later earned a master's in project management with an emphasis in conflict and dispute resolution, which has come in handy more often than he'd like. When a CEO asked him how his team outperformed the rest of the company, he told them, "I just try to lead like Jesus."

April Stublefield
From counseling to homeschooling
April has a bachelor's in psychology and a master's in counseling, and she was a licensed professional counselor before she became a homeschool mom to their kids in Springfield. She's still learning this herself: "It is radical to me personally to work as unto the Lord instead of for my own worth. I'm in that process right now."
Questions you might ask
How does this work, day to day?
It all happens by message. Whenever something comes up, send it to your private Slack channel, typed or as a voice message, and one of us replies each weekday, usually in the morning. There's no weekly appointment to keep, and when something's easier to talk through, you can book a 15-minute quick call.
Is this counseling or therapy?
No. It's coaching on your work first, then your life, and we can make referrals when you need more than coaching. How coaching works says where the line is.
Does AI read my messages?
Yes. AI transcribes voice messages, writes us a short brief and finds resources, and a librarian bot in your channel searches Fieldway's material. Every coaching reply is written by one of us, never by AI, and apart from those tools, only we read your channel, along with your plus-one if you add one, and none of it is used to train AI (AI and privacy policy, How I use AI).
What does April do?
April brings the perspective of a woman and a mother, grounded in the spiritual disciplines. She trained in psychology and counseling, she now manages our home and teaches our kids, and she's submitting all of it to Jesus. She brings all of that to your coaching.
Do you do the work, or teach me to?
You do the work. We'll help you see the next step and how to take it as a Christian, and we'll hold you to it: the next exchange starts from what you did.
I already have a pastor or a peer group.
Groundwork is one-to-one help with the business problem itself – the hard employee or boss, the P&L, the money decision – worked through until there's a next step you'll take.
What if working the way Jesus wants costs me my job?
It might – it happened to Matthew, and God took care of us way better than we could have imagined. The stakes are high, which is why it helps to have someone to talk these things through with.
When do you reply?
Once each weekday, usually in the morning, with US federal holidays off. Matthew typically works 9 to 5 Central, Monday through Friday.
How long will this take?
The program is 12 months because it takes a long time to build these habits. It takes as long as it takes, possibly more than one term, and we can't promise a result. If something serious happens mid-term, like losing a job, we'll talk about a pause.
When you're ready, let's talk for 30 minutes.
