Data Deletion

Last updated: November 2, 2026

This page explains how to ask Fieldway, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") to delete the personal data we hold about you, what happens after you ask, and what we may keep. Anyone can ask, wherever you live. It adds to our Privacy Policy.

Who this covers

  • People who subscribe to our newsletter.
  • People who contact us, through our website, by email, or by booking a call.
  • Our clients, and a client's plus-one, and the people on a consulting client's team who join their engagement.
  • People whose public replies, comments, or mentions on social media are collected by our tools. Our Meta app, fieldway-social-publisher, publishes Fieldway's own posts to Threads. Today, Fieldway's tools count the replies and comments on Fieldway's posts without keeping who wrote them, and collect Matthew's own LinkedIn comments, whose threads can include other people's public replies. We plan to have them read public replies to Fieldway's posts, public posts that mention Fieldway, and, once Meta approves keyword search, public posts that match topics Fieldway searches for. We don't read your private messages.

For a public reply, comment, or mention, we keep only the text and the public profile details the platform sends with it, such as your name, handle, and profile link.

How to ask

Email privacy@fieldway.org, or use our contact page. Please include:

  • Your name.
  • The email address we'd know you by, or your handle and the platform (for example, Threads or Instagram).
  • What you'd like deleted: everything we hold about you, or something specific, such as one comment.
  • If you're a client, which engagement it's about.

What happens next

We'll reply within 30 days, as our Privacy Policy says, and we'll delete what you asked us to delete. For client data, copies in our backups expire within 30 days after deletion.

Deleting a social media reply or comment removes our copy. The original stays on the platform until you delete it there.

You don't have to ask for some data to be deleted, because we delete it on a schedule:

  • Consulting clients: we keep engagement data for 90 days after the engagement ends, then we delete it within 30 days. Where your contract sets different terms, your contract's terms apply.
  • Coaching clients (once Groundwork coaching launches in January 2027): we keep your data for six months, then we delete it within 30 days, so you can pick back up where you left off if you return. We'll check in with you before anything is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner, or to keep it longer because you're coming back.
  • Coaching clients' Slack channel (once Groundwork coaching launches in January 2027): at the end of your term we archive your channel rather than delete it, so it can reopen if you return. We delete the archived channel at six months too, unless you asked us to keep your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Consulting clients' Slack channel: we archive it at offboarding, and it falls under the same 90-day rule as the rest of your engagement data.
  • Applications: if you apply to work with us and don't sign, we delete your application answers six months after the call.

What we may keep, and why

  • Our own notes and work product. When a client's data is deleted, we keep the notes and work we created ourselves, with your data removed from them.
  • A basic contact record. When a client's data is deleted on schedule, our contact records keep your name, contact details, key dates, our own notes, and our notes on how you prefer to communicate, with any quoted message text removed. These notes on how you prefer to communicate are drafted with AI from your messages, used only to shape what we write for you, and never shown to anyone else. You can ask us to delete these notes too.
  • Copies other services hold. Some services we use keep their own copies under their own terms, which we can't shorten.

Our Privacy Policy also explains what we keep to meet our legal obligations.

Stop our emails without asking

Every newsletter email from us has an unsubscribe link. It works without logging in. Unsubscribing stops the emails. If you'd also like your email address deleted, email us as described above.

If you use Threads, Facebook, or Instagram

Fieldway's Meta app, fieldway-social-publisher, is connected to Threads, Facebook (our Page), and Instagram. It publishes Fieldway's own posts and counts the replies and comments they get, and we plan to have it read public replies and mentions too. It doesn't post for you or read your private messages.

If you connected your account to the app, you can remove it:

  • Threads: go to Settings, then Account, then Website permissions, and remove fieldway-social-publisher.
  • Facebook: go to Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites, and click Remove next to fieldway-social-publisher.
  • Instagram: remove fieldway-social-publisher from the apps and websites connected in your Instagram settings, or email us and we'll do it for you.

Removing the app stops its access. To have the data we already hold deleted, email privacy@fieldway.org as described above.
